Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a room?

The easiest way to book a room is on our website. Choose a room and pick a time and date! If you’re more of an old-fashioned type, give us a call or pop in to our downtown location. If we’ve got a slot open, we’ll get you in!

When should I arrive?

We recommend you arrive at Escape Quest at least fifteen minutes ahead of your booking. Our games begin at the scheduled time, and if you’re late, you might end up with less time to play. While we’re on the subject, we recommend you schedule fifteen minutes after your game as well, to have time for pictures and gathering your belongings.

Am I locked in?

No. The door you enter to begin the game is always unlocked, so in the event of an emergency, you can simply exit the room. Just remember, though, we call that door the Game Over door for a reason; once you leave the game, there’s no going back.

How much does a game cost?

Games are $22 a person on weekdays, and $25 Friday through Sunday, plus tax.

How many can play?

Our three regular rooms, 1892, Undead 2: Patient 709, and St.John’s Superhero Saga, have a max capacity of six people.

How do I pay?

We accept cash, debit, and credit at our front desk when you arrive!

Can I book a game with my friends and/or family?

Certainly! It’s probably easiest for one person to make the booking online, booking however many slots are required. If you want, though, everyone can book individually, as well.

Can you accommodate large groups and corporate events?

Yes we can! Feel free to book on our website, or give us a call to arrange a private event prior to our public opening times.

Will there be other people in the room with us?

Possibly. If your group is smaller than a room’s max capacity, the remaining slots will be open for other people to book and play. That means you might have a few new faces in the game with you. Don’t be shy! Escape Quest is a great way to get to know people!

Can I play with just my friends?

Yes. You can book the entire room and keep it a game amongst friends, but keep in mind that it will cost a little extra if your group is smaller than the room’s max capacity.

What is Escape Quest?

Escape Quest is a live action, interactive gaming adventure located in downtown St. John’s! Work with a group of 2-6 players to tackle obstacles, find clues, and escape before time runs out. Each of our four rooms immerses you in a colourful, detailed story full of twists, turns, and excitement!

Is there an age limit?

Yes and no. Our games are designed to be challenging, so children under the age of eight may have trouble with some of our obstacles and clues. That said, we have had younger kids try our games and have a blast with their friends and family. Children twelve and younger must have an adult accompany them.

How long is each game?

You’ve got forty-five minutes once you enter the room.

What if I cannot solve something?

Each group is entitled to three hints from our Quest Guides. We recommend trying things on your own before requesting a hint.

Can I bring my mobile phone in?

We’re afraid not! Mobile phones, as well as outerwear and outside footwear, will be stored in our lockers prior to your game beginning.

How much is it?

The cost per player per room is $22 plus tax from Monday to Thursday and
$25 plus tax Friday to Sunday.
